How to Convert Minutes Per Mile to Minutes Per Kilometer

1 mile is approximately equal to 1.609 kilometers. So, to convert minutes per mile to minutes per kilometer, you simply need to divide your minutes per mile by 1.609.
Here’s a simple formula:
- Minutes per kilometer = Minutes per mile ÷ 1.609
Example:
If you run a mile in 8 minutes:
- Minutes per kilometer = 8 ÷ 1.609 ≈ 4.97 minutes per kilometer

Why do I need to convert miles to kilometers?
I use Runkeeper which tracks everything in miles. But when I use the treadmill at the gym, it tracks the distance as kilometers. So I have to keep switching between the two pieces of data.
